Shri S. Ramalingam is the former Chairman & Managing Director of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (formerly Madras Refineries Limited). He also served as Chairman of National Aromatics and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited and Indian Additives Limited, a joint venture with Chevron Chemical Corporation.

He holds leadership and advisory roles across professional and academic institutions, including President of the Energy & Fuels’ Association, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Waterloo, and Patron of the Indian Institute of Plant Engineers and the Institution of Non-Destructive Testing. He is also a Fellow and Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers India and a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Currently, as National President of the Energy and Fuel Users Association of India, he promotes energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable adoption, while fostering academic–industry collaboration with leading institutions in India and Canada.
